Tthe plot centers on a team of researchers who are commandeered by the military to undertake a covert mission to find a missing freighter carrying contraband weapons. Their search leads to the planet of K’Turia, where the researchers-turned-spies find a preacher who brings a message of sacrifice and encouraging the people to think beyond their traditional customs and rote religious practices. His message challenges the established religious leaders as well as an occupying military force from another planet.
I found the book could have used a bit more editing, but as an analogy it directly followed the gospel account of Jesus Christ with the exception of only telling part of the story as if a sequel is in the works.
